Unfortunately for this year's NYE, I didn't get to watch as many fireworks but I still felt the same feeling since I was a kid. Though circumstances are different, I really really enjoyed this evening.
To start off, we had pre-dinner so we could spend the time with my grandmother who won't be joining us for the NYE proper. After dinner, we took a few photos and left so she could rest.
Then the party begins...
I enjoyed my second dinner too because I've been wanting to eat my aunt's special roasted stuffed chicken for months now! My Christmas Eve wasn't what I expected it to be as well that's why I was so excited to be spending the night with them. They know how to throw a party and boy do their jokes make me laugh!
Traditionally, we don't wait for midnight to eat dinner / Media Noche. We eat dinner at dinner time just because we're always a hungry group, and then eat Batchoy at midnight after all the fireworks, the jumping, the greetings, and the making of noises. It's always been like that for as far as I can remember and I've always loved it that way. I also remember always having to eat Grilled Tuna as pulutan and it was always the boys who were in charge of that.
I really love the aesthetics of my aunt's kitchen, and I really love her cooking. Can't wait for my own kitchen! Most of all... I can't wait to experiment and cook new dishes! I also can't wait to purchase my own griller. Gosh, this excites me so much lol
I really really had a great time at NYE. It was a great way to end 2020 and start 2021. As per usual, my hopes for 2021 came flashing right before me and it somehow scared me but I know it's all going to be worth it!
Since I knew Rab won't be here, I requested for a DIY 2021 photoshoot with him and he agreed since he knows how much NYE meant to me. I really appreciate how he does what he can to make me happy. I'm hoping we'd be together to welcome 2022 but for now, this will do.
