Well, I think it's all about the state of mind and body clock. I've never loved waking up early, and I have failed to wake up early ever since the world began... so I use that I'm not a morning person line a lot. But the truth is, I'm really just lazy and nocturnal that's why no matter how hard I try, I never get to wake up on time (unless I'm catching a flight or an important meeting).
When I was in college, I failed two subjects due to absence (but really, I just never make the cut off). These classes were both 7:30AM classes and we all know how traffic Katipunan can be. Let's not even talk about high school....LOL! I know, I just have to wake up earlier...but I can't. Kasi nga, gising na gising ako sa gabi. Several months ago, I tried to take melatonin to help me sleep on time. It has worked magically for me, and I found myself waking up early (7,8,9AM).
...but here goes another problem. Whenever I wake up early, I have this mentality of not getting up because it's still early. Like if I wake up at 8, I will grab my phone and browse the internet, thinking it's too early for my day to start. So what happens? I end up getting falling asleep again and getting up at 1PM or later which is my biggest problem - that I start my day late. LOL! Ang gulo, no?
This year, I've been trying to schedule a lot of things early in the morning so I can at the very least try to fix my body clock. I don't want to be dependent on sleeping hormones or sleeping pills. And when it comes to that "it's still early" mentality, I just need to change my mind settings and remind myself how important every single day is, and that there's so much to explore each time.
How 'bout you? Are you nocturnal like myself? Or are you a "morning person"? Do you believe in that?
